‘Reba’ writer sues after being fired

A veteran sitcom writer is suing the WB network and the producers of “Reba,” a show about a middle-aged soccer mom, claiming he was denied promotion and finally fired because they thought he was too old.

Lawyers for Gary H. Miller, 54, whose previous credits include “Laverne & Shirley,” “Bosom Buddies” and “The Fresh Prince of Bel Air,” say he was let go after being told the network wanted to hire “greener writers” than him.

Neither 20th Century Fox, which produces the show, nor the WB had immediate comment.
