Angels Anticipating Parade Jam Session

And on guitar and lead vocals, please welcome to the stage ... Scott Spiezio!

The Angels’ victory celebration today will not be complete without a little music from Spiezio and his band, Sandfrog. Thanks to Spiezio’s high-profile day job as the Angels’ first baseman, Sandfrog might be one of the most publicized garage bands in music history.

The band, formed by Spiezio and several old friends back home in Illinois, has been together for years. Sandfrog has yet to record an album, but thanks to Spiezio, the band has been featured in newspaper and magazine stories for several years now. During its World Series telecasts, Fox hyped Spiezio and his band.

So it’s about time for a live performance from Sandfrog, or at the very least, a solo performance from Spiezio.

Spiezio’s bandmates all made it to Anaheim for the final game of the World Series, but Spiezio wasn’t sure whether they could stick around for today’s rally.

On Sunday, Spiezio made no promises but called a performance “a possibility,” even if some of the band members cannot be there.

“We’ll have to get some big-name guys to take their place,” he said.

The victory rally starts at noon in the Edison Field parking lot. The festivities start with a cavalcade down Disneyland’s Main Street USA at 10 a.m., followed by the official parade at 11, which starts at the Arrowhead Pond and proceeds along Katella Avenue to Edison Field.
