Show Us the Victims

Share

I have a new assignment for Della Rossa, whose camera “gazes lovingly on Latino L.A.” (“A View From Echo Park,” by Abel Salas, Metropolis, Aug. 4). She should now show us, with the same “uncanny intimacy,” a few of the countless victims of Danny (he of the “tender” gaze) and his cholo buddies.

Let her camera celebrate the stabbed, beaten, shot and mangled bodies. Let her shed light on the terrible emotional havoc and material loss experienced by those who have been victims of others’ “downward spiral into drug abuse and crime.”
