Music Teacher to Lead Youth Symphony
Ventura High School music teacher Michael Takazono has been named conductor of the New West Youth Symphony.
Takazono, 36, who is also a music supervisor for the Ventura Unified School District, helps coordinate music programs for the district’s junior high and senior high schools.
The New West Youth Symphony had about 120 musicians last year and will hold auditions this month. The symphony usually holds a winter concert in December and a spring concert in late May.
