A Lil’ Shindig at the Ivy for Kim and Pals
‘Twas nothin’ but a gangsta party at the Ivy on Sunday night as Lil’ Kim and her raucous entourage kept the Sidecars flowing till closing at the tony Robertson Boulevard restaurant. The New York rapper’s in town putting the finishing touches on her third solo album while simultaneously filming “Guns and Roses,” a girl-power, western shoot-’em-up also starring Monica Calhoun, Stacey Dash and Lisa Raye. Yippee yo, yippee yeah.... Justin Timberlake couldn’t have hooked up with a better scenester, the club scene’s very own Alyssa Milano, whom he squired to A.D. on Saturday night. The Hollywood nightclub was filled with such thick-necked heavyweights as Vin Diesel, Mark Wahlberg, Mickey Rourke, Brett Ratner and supermodel Tyson. Ouch.... Last week at A.D., Christina Aguilera nearly suffered defenestration after demanding her usual VIP perch, which the Irish super group Westlife had been inhabiting. While the power powwow ensued, a guest nearly bumped her off the balcony in an attempt to get out of the way. All’s well that ends well. Westlife graciously gave up the booth.... Wowzy wowzy woo woo, the Davis Brothers (the Gate/the Lounge/A.D.) are moving to the Sunset Strip. The team is set to take over the food and entertainment of a major Strip landmark, and they’re right on time cuz the Strip’s hoppin’.
We dropped into Cherry at the Key Club and it’s a fab fit. Joseph Brooks and Mike Messex lighted the Friday night glam club’s main floor with loads of rock ‘n’ roll, while Danzig’s Howie Pyro deejayed the downstairs Plush Lounge, where we caught up with colorists to the stars, the Parlour’s Steven Tapp and John Frieda’s Lori Goddard. Between the two of ‘em, they rule the roots of Hollywood’s most infamous tresses--Madonna, Gwyneth, Ricky Martin, Jen & Brad. To dye for.... Popped into Belly for owner Mike Boogie’s b-day bash and turns out he and Belly partner Lonnie Moore are renovating Chardonnay at Melrose and Sweetzer. They’re renaming it Dolce, hiring Falcon’s design crew and looking to take Italian food to a whole nutha level. Bravo.... And finally, we hear Will Shatter (Daddy’s/4100 Bar) is planning to open a bar in the Valley. Like, that’s so cool.
