Free for the Asking: Best of Britain
The 126-page “Best of British Excellence,” issued by the British Tourist Authority, describes dozens of retail outlets and products and includes a card good for behind-the-scenes tours of factories, stores and museums. Although it emphasizes shopping, it has information on other attractions in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Many listings offer an Internet address but no phone or street address, so you will need a computer to make full use of it. (877) 899-8391.
