Police Name Suspect in Kidnapping, Slaying
Police have named a suspect in the kidnapping and killing of a man whose body was found last week in the trunk of a car parked in Compton.
Long Beach Police Sgt. Paul LeBaron said Jeremy Jones, 30, of North Long Beach is the prime suspect in the abduction and killing of Erick Leonel Martinez, 30, of Bellflower. Martinez’s body was found Aug. 29.
Police said Martinez and a friend had met at a Long Beach residence with two or three other men who attacked them and tied them up. Martinez’s friend escaped and called police. Only Jones has been identified in the case.
