Motorcyclist Killed in Collision With Van
An 18-year-old Chatsworth man died Friday after his motorcycle was struck by a Toyota van that was attempting to make a left turn through a yellow light, Los Angeles police said.
The crash was reported shortly after noon at Corbin Avenue and Plummer Street in Chatsworth, said Officer Connie Silber of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.
The motorcyclist, identified by police as Joshua Foote, was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
“The van was turning left in front of the motorcyclist, who was going straight,” Silber said.
Foote was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered massive head injuries, she said.
The accident remained under investigation.
