Driver Guilty of Hitting Pair Near Beverly Center
A driver who was trying to elude police when he ran into an elderly couple walking near the Beverly Center in March was convicted Wednesday of hit-and-run and evading charges.
A Los Angeles Superior Court jury deliberated less than an hour before finding Tremine Tillman, 24, of Van Nuys guilty, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Dave Barkhurst. Sentencing is Oct. 17.
Anna Polivoda, 76, and her husband, Henry, 79, were out for a walk when they were struck March 16 while crossing a street near the Beverly Center, Barkhurst said.
The two were “both severely injured” and are still recovering six months later, the prosecutor said.
