Carjackers Rob Man at ATM, Push Car Off Cliff
From Times Staff Reports
Two carjackers robbed a man at an automated teller machine Friday and then pushed his unoccupied car off a cliff, authorities said.
The victim was robbed about 12:30 a.m. after he withdrew $40 from an ATM at a Washington Mutual branch in the 16500 block of Soledad Canyon Road. Two men in a pickup truck demanded, at gunpoint, both the money and the man’s car, authorities said.
“It’s kind of a new one,” Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Dolan said. “I don’t know why they would steal a car just to push it off a cliff.”
