Caltrans to Address Connector Closure
Caltrans will host a public meeting tonight to discuss the permanent closure of the northbound Oxnard Boulevard connector to the Ventura Freeway as part of a $100-million freeway widening project.
The connector will be closed Monday, with its replacement set to be completed by mid-2004. Traffic will be routed to Vineyard Avenue in the interim.
The freeway project covers a two-mile stretch from Vineyard Avenue to Johnson Drive and includes replacement of the Santa Clara River bridge.
The project, which began last May, is expected to be completed by the summer of 2006.
During tonight’s meeting, Caltrans officials will discuss rerouting of traffic and other concerns of motorists and residents.
The meeting will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oxnard Activities Building, 300 W. 3rd St.
