Update -- Ortiz has struggled in his first two starts, giving up nine runs -- seven earned -- and 15 hits in nine innings. After his last start, a four-inning performance against Seattle in which he was saddled with a loss during the Angels’ 5-0 defeat, Ortiz said he has not been able to generate his usual velocity so far this season. Angel Manager Mike Scioscia said he believed that Ortiz was merely struggling with his delivery. This will be Zito’s first appearance of the season against the Angels.
