The wagering wars are on again in Anaheim, and this time it’s between old friends and former colleagues.

General managers of the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim and the American Airlines Center in Dallas -- homes of the Mighty Ducks and Dallas Stars -- are casting a Stanley Cup playoff bet.

Brad Mayne, who is president and CEO of the Dallas arena, opened the Pond 10 years ago and managed it for five years before moving to Dallas. The Pond is now headed by Tim Ryan, who was the assistant general manager under Mayne.

If the Mighty Ducks win, Mayne will fly to Anaheim and serve Pond staff 10 gallons of barbecue in a Mighty Ducks jersey. He’ll also bring cases of Sunny Brian’s Bar-b-que Sauce and Dean Fearing’s Salsa.

If the Ducks lose, Ryan will wear a 10-gallon hat and a Dallas Stars jersey and present 10 cases of Arrowhead water, 10 boxes of oranges and 10 boxes of Anaheim chiles.

Anaheim advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs after sweeping the defending champion Detroit Red Wings.
