Breakers Close In on Playoff Spot

UNIONDALE, N.Y. — Dagny Mellgren scored two goals to lead the Boston Breakers to a 3-2 victory over the New York Power in front of 4,467 in a Women’s United Soccer Assn. game Friday.
The Breakers (8-4-7) can clinch a playoff spot today if San Jose loses at Washington.
