Zoras Tries to Make Most of Hot August Night

Beaten at 2-5 odds in her latest start on July 25, Zoras will attempt to start another win streak in tonight’s $10,150 Hot August Night Handicap.

A 6-year-old Arabian mare owned by Darley Stud Management and trained by Felix Payne, Zoras had won four in a row before being upset by stablemate Amber Croixnoire in the Pioneer Distaff.

Bred in Delaware, Zoras will race at 7 1/2 furlongs as she aims for her ninth victory in 17 starts. She will be ridden by Alex Bautista and he was aboard for her last successful try at the distance.

Owned and trained by Payne, Amber Croixnoire is back in the tonight and she’ll try to stretch her speed an additional eighth of a mile. She has won six of 16. Sherife Usa, Ps Kitties Sage and Dream Katcher complete the field.
