Power Outage Affects Huntington, Costa Mesa

Thousands of homes and businesses in Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa were without power Sunday morning because of equipment failure and a downed power line.
Southern California Edison officials said equipment failure caused a power outage in Huntington Beach at 5:51 a.m., affecting about 6,200 customers.
About 6 a.m., 4,009 customers lost power in Costa Mesa because of a downed wire. The two failures were not related. Power was restored later in the day.
