United, Air China to Team Up on Ticketing

UAL Corp.’s United Airlines, the biggest U.S. carrier in Asia, and Air China, that country’s second-biggest airline, will begin offering seats on each other’s flights between the U.S. and China on Oct. 31.

The airlines said they would sell tickets for 26 weekly flights between the countries. The agreement also will let them sell tickets for connecting flights flown to smaller towns beyond the carriers’ major airports in Beijing, Shanghai, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Chicago-based United, which is operating under Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors, is the world’s second-largest airline. Air China is a unit of China National Aviation Holding Co.
