The pilots of a commuter plane that crashed off Cape Cod lost control seconds into the flight as the aircraft fell steeply and accelerated, investigators said. Both pilots were killed.
As they attempted to return to a Hyannis airport, the plane nosed down at a 30-degree angle and reached an air speed of 250 knots before crashing into the water, said Paul Schlamm, spokesman for the National Transportation Safety Board.
