Search of Vans Yields Pot, Weapons Cache
From Times Staff Reports
Acting on a tip, sheriff’s deputies searched two vans near Compton and recovered about 629 pounds of marijuana, a World War II machine gun and several assault-style weapons, officials said Friday.
Lt. Bob Rifkin said the marijuana, worth about $1.4 million on the street, was seized in the 14900 block of Stanford Avenue.
Rifkin said the vans were associated with the Campanella Park Bloods. He said investigators were seeking Gregory Taylor, 23. Anyone with information should call the gang unit at (310) 386-4179.
