Phoenix Sun forward Amare Stoudemire is expected to sit out three games because of a sprained left ankle. Stoudemire was injured in Friday’s victory over the Boston Celtics.

Alonzo Mourning, who retired from the New Jersey Nets because of a kidney illness, is optimistic he’ll receive a kidney transplant soon, saying, “If all goes as expected, we anticipate that it will be possible to have the surgery completed by the end of the year.”
