Minnesota Routs Long Beach State
Freshman Kris Humphries picked up his fifth double-double in six games, scoring 28 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in Minnesota’s 88-58 victory over Long Beach State on Tuesday night at Minneapolis.
Kevin Roberts led the 49ers (1-4) with 13 points. Cody Pearson and Chris Jenkins each scored 12 for Long Beach. It was Long Beach’s 19th consecutive road loss.
Long Beach State, whose only win came last week over Division II Cal State-Stanislaus, used a 10-0 run early in the game to take a short-lived 15-11 lead. Humphries then took over for Minnesota (4-2), putting down an emphatic dunk and adding four straight free throws.
