Man Charged in Assault, Said to Pose as Officer
A man was charged with kidnapping and sexual assault after posing as a police officer and driving his victim through the LAPD Rampart Division’s underground parking lot before attacking her, officials said.
Terrell B. Lawrence, 38, was arrested Tuesday after he returned to the Pico-Union apartment of his victim less than 24 hours after the attack, police said. Lawrence was charged with kidnapping and forced oral copulation with the special circumstance of impersonating a police officer. He pleaded not guilty Thursday and is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
