From Times Wire Reports

An oil painting by Georgia O’Keeffe is missing from a state-owned museum, and authorities have posted a reward for its return.

Officials said a security guard at the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe discovered that the 1916 painting, titled “Special 21 (Palo Duro Canyon),” was missing. Investigators offered a “substantial reward.”

Santa Fe art dealer Gerald Peters said the painting was worth more than $500,000. But he added that the painting was “not marketable because it’s so well documented. It’s kind of a crazy theft.”
