A 51-year-old woman died Tuesday of an influenza-associated illness, bringing the total of deaths in the county linked to the flu outbreak to six, county health officials said Wednesday. Two other cases -- a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy -- are also being investigated.

The percentage of San Diego County emergency room patients seeking relief from the flu has increased to 28%, up from 24%. Still, the county has “limited doses of vaccine,” said Dr. Nancy Bowen, county public health officer.
