Re “ ‘Road Rage’ Still a Stubborn Highway Problem, CHP Says,” Jan. 24: California Highway Patrol spokesman Tom Marshall has got it all wrong when he says, “As long as people have tempers and drive cars, it’s going to be a problem.” No, no, no. It is giving in to your personal temper tantrums that causes the problem. People today have no self-control whatsoever. It is part of the MTV culture that says, “Too much is never enough.” What he has done in one sentence is to legitimize road rage as an acceptable behavior. You would think that a CHP representative would know better than to add fuel to the fire!
