It Shouldn’t Be Big Stretch for Ryland

Share

Stretching out to 550 yards again, Ryland hopes to start a new win streak in the $15,000 Stanton Handicap tonight.

Owned by the Donald Ryan Revocable Trust and trained by Jesus Enriquez, Ryland finished fourth as the 8-5 second choice in the Laguna Hills Handicap at 350 yards.

Before that defeat, the 4-year-old gelded son of Red Hot Rhythm had won two in a row at the Stanton distance. Both victories were by daylight. He won the Cerritos Handicap by two lengths Sept. 20 and followed with a 1 1/2-length win in the first division of the Paul Ford Handicap on Dec. 22.

Her best recent effort came when she was third behind Available Credit and Catchmeinyourdreams in the second division of the Paul Ford.
