Even Vancouver Coach Marc Crawford thought his team’s unbeaten streak had come to an end.

But Marek Malik scored with 1 minute 58 seconds left in overtime as the Canucks overcame a three-goal deficit and beat the Detroit Red Wings, 4-3, Tuesday night at Detroit, stretching their unbeaten streak to 10 games.

Vancouver came back after being down, 3-0, in the third period to end Detroit’s three-game winning streak.

“Down 3-0, I thought it was over, to be honest,” Crawford said.

Malik’s winner came off a pass from Brendan Morrison on a two-on-one break.

“Just too many mistakes,” said Detroit’s Sergei Fedorov, who scored a goal. “We can’t play like that.”

Vancouver’s Markus Naslund scored the tying goal with 24.3 seconds left in regulation, after goalie Peter Skudra was pulled for a sixth attacker. Naslund put in a high shot from just outside the crease after the puck had bounced off the skate of referee Don Van Massenhoven. It was Naslund’s league-leading 38th goal.

Detroit was more upset about the penalty calls of Van Massenhoven and partner Kevin Pollack at the end of the game. The Red Wings received all three penalties called in the final 12:04.

“A couple of calls were questionable,” said Fedorov, who iced the puck and then lost the ensuing faceoff leading to Naslund’s goal.

Trevor Linden and Trent Klatt also scored for Vancouver.

Henrik Zetterberg and Luc Robitaille had goals for Detroit.

Linden got Vancouver on the board at 4:59 of the third period with a wrist shot from the slot.

“After Linden’s goal, we felt we were back in it,” Vancouver defenseman Ed Jovanovski said. “We knew we could score in bunches. It worked out just the way we planned.”

New Jersey 2, Philadelphia 2 -- Jeff Friesen’s goal with 4:45 left lifted the Devils, who had lost three of their last five, into a tie at Philadelphia. Donald Brashear had a goal and assist for Philadelphia, which is 0-3-1 against the Devils this season.

Roman Cechmanek stopped 34 shots for the Flyers, including two stops on a breakaway by Michael Rupp in the final seconds and a sprawling, belly-flopping save on a shot by Friesen during a New Jersey power play early in the third.

Pittsburgh 4, Edmonton 3 -- Mario Lemieux scored the game-winning goal in overtime after the Penguins let a lead slip away late in the third period at Pittsburgh. Lemieux scored his 14th goal in 26 career games against Edmonton as the Oilers remained winless (0-6-2) in Pittsburgh since Edmonton Coach Craig MacTavish was an Oiler player.

Toronto 4, Carolina 3 -- Darcy Tucker scored the go-ahead goal with 7:39 left to help the Maple Leafs win at Toronto, posting their eighth win in nine games. Kevin Weekes made 43 saves for the Hurricanes, who have only two wins in their last 19 games. Toronto outshot Carolina, 47-24.

Florida 3, Montreal 0 -- Roberto Luongo got his career-high sixth shutout of the season and Olli Jokinen and Viktor Kozlov each had a goal and an assist to help the Panthers end a four-game winless streak with a victory at Montreal.

Phoenix 5, Columbus 2 -- Struggling star Tony Amonte had two goals to help the Coyotes win at Phoenix for their third straight victory.
