Boutique Sale to Benefit Nonprofit Groups

Shop 4 Causes will offer an upscale boutique next month in Thousand Oaks to benefit cash-starved nonprofit organizations throughout Ventura County.

The boutique, which will feature everything from designer clothing to unique jewelry, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 2 at Los Robles Greens Golf Course, 299 S. Moorpark Road.

Subsequent boutiques will be offered on the first Sunday of each month.

Buyers can select one of 50 nonprofit groups to receive a portion of the purchase price of each item.

Groups include the Ventura Chamber Music Festival, which puts on a concert each May and provides training and study for young musicians.

Shop 4 Causes was formed because of the scarcity of funding for nonprofit groups, organizers said.

Nonprofits are funded in part with government subsidies, but the state’s budget crisis has reduced the amount of money flowing to these groups.
