Jewish Group Has Fund-Raising Day
From a Times Staff Writer
The Jewish Federation’s “Super Sunday” fund-raiser was expected to bring in about $4 million in a daylong telephone campaign to benefit the federation’s programs across Los Angeles County.
About 1,200 volunteers received donations from 14,000 people, according to organizers. Among the volunteers were Los Angeles Mayor James K. Hahn and Council members Alex Padilla, Dennis Zine and Jack Weiss.
The 24-year-old event is the largest single fund-raising day for the group.
