Irvine Man Killed in Crash Is Identified
A 72-year-old Irvine man who was killed Saturday in a crash in Ventura County was identified Sunday as Charles Earl Hallum, coroner’s officials said.
Hallum suffered massive head trauma after crashing his Dodge Viper on a curve of California 33 in Lockwood Valley, north of Ojai, the California Highway Patrol said.
About 9 a.m. Saturday, Hallum’s car hit an ice patch, flipped and landed on its side on the highway. A pickup truck rounding the curve then struck Hallum’s car, killing him instantly, officials said. The truck driver was not injured and not cited.
