Attendance at Pauley Is Lowest in a Decade

Share

With two home games to play, UCLA’s average attendance at Pauley Pavilion is 8,453, the lowest since 1992-93.

Because those games are against low-rung Washington State and Washington, that number probably will dip.

The Bruins are 3-11 at home, their worst record in the 38-year history of Pauley. None of the home games this season have sold out.

The closest to a sellout was the crowd of 12,736 for USC, 83 short of capacity. The only other home games that drew more than 10,000 were against Arizona and Michigan.

About 9,900 season tickets were sold, a figure that includes 2,400 student tickets, so revenue is not down as much as the drop in attendance would indicate.

Many season-ticket holders stopped attending games when the Bruins began losing.

Cedric Bozeman did not practice Monday and probably will not play at Oregon State on Thursday.

A bruised right shoulder kept the sophomore point guard out of games against California and Stanford last week.

Senior Ray Young, who replaced Bozeman in the starting lineup, had seven three-point baskets in the two games, giving him 81 in his career and moving him into 10th place on the school list.
