Hot hot spots

Had a sublime time in Beverly Hills catching up with Tempest owner Michael Najjar, who recently took over the B.H. hot spot R.J.’s. The rib restaurant, which counts such carnivores as Aaron Spelling, Jay Leno and Tyra Banks among its favorite customers, is starting an after-hours club on Fridays. R.J.’s is a classic joint, and Najjar is adding all the right touches.

After loading up on meat and taters, we bopped by the neighboring nightclub Joya and caught up with owner Chris Pike, who tells me he’s opening up a new spot with his Las Palmas partners Sky Reiss and Loyal Pennings. The upcoming nightclub (tentatively named Concorde) is on Cahuenga Boulevard at the site of the old strip club Legg’s. That’s right, the Cahuenga Corridor just keeps getting hotter.

Late snack

And speaking of hot, the Jane’s Addiction after-party on New Year’s Eve brought out such revelers as Kevin Spacey, Macy Gray, Lisa Ling, Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro, who hung out at the hillside house party for some early morning shrimp. Sure beats green eggs and ham.... Bad luck for Good Bar: The Sunset Strip nightclub said sayonara over the weekend, as one too many violations forced its owner out of biz. We hear San Francisco’s Blowfish crew has already leased the space and plans to turn it into a tres chic restaurant, so all’s well that ends well.

Sharks attack

The new Hollywood Boulevard nightclub Cinespace started the year with a bang. Monday’s opening party featured Dennis Quaid and the Sharks.... Drag queens Momma and Mz. Alanna stole the show at the Hollywood Athletic Club’s annual New Year’s Eve bash, which attracted such hotties as Fairuza Balk and Bobby Trendy.
