From Times Wire Reports

An electrical fire gutted a reception hall at the Harlem headquarters of the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network one day after Sharpton formally became a Democratic presidential contender in 2004.

Investigators were focusing on an extension cord as the cause, Chief Fire Marshal Louis Garcia said.

Sharpton said the fire would not affect his run for president.
