On the eve of tonight’s game against the Ottawa Senators, the top team in the Eastern Conference, two more players dropped out of the King lineup.

Goaltender Felix Potvin was put on injured reserve after suffering a sprained knee in the first period of the Kings’ 3-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday and rookie forward Michael Cammalleri was declared out of tonight’s game after suffering a possible concussion in the third period Tuesday.

Potvin was injured when he twisted his knee making a save; Cammalleri when he collided with Shark center Vincent Damphousse behind the net.

They are among nine injured Kings who will sit out tonight.

“It’s been incredible,” King Coach Andy Murray said of the injury wave that has contributed to a 4-14-0-1 record since Dec. 19. “But we’ve got to hang in there for, certainly, 31 more games and see what we can get out of it.”

Goaltender Cristobal Huet was recalled from the Kings’ American Hockey League team at Manchester, N.H.

The 27-year-old Frenchman was 13-7-4 with a 2.39 goals-against average and .918 save percentage for the Monarchs.

If Huet makes it into a game -- Jamie Storr will start against the Senators -- he will be the eighth King to make his NHL debut this season.

Defenseman Mathieu Schneider, who has battled groin and foot injuries the last two weeks, informed the NHL that he’ll be able to play in the All-Star game Sunday at Sunrise, Fla.

Schneider will be the Kings’ only representative.

He sat out Tuesday night’s game because of a bruised right foot suffered when he got in the way of a shot by Ziggy Palffy on Monday night, but said his foot felt much better Wednesday and that he should be able to play tonight.
