From Times Wire and Staff Reports

A former girlfriend and 4-year-old son of boxing champion Oscar De La Hoya were found safe Thursday, five days after they were reported missing from a Riverside mall, officials said.

Angelique McQueen and her son, Devon De La Hoya, left the Galleria at Tyler on their own Saturday without their car, which police found abandoned in the mall parking lot Monday, Anaheim Police Sgt. Rick Martinez said. They were found safe Thursday, but Martinez declined to say where.

“Our detectives are going to continue interviewing her to find out what caused the disappearance,” he said.

McQueen, 32, is the former wife of Audie Desbrow, the former drummer of the heavy-metal band Great White, police said. Desbrow was not in the band in February, when a fire at a Great White concert in Rhode Island killed 100 people.

Desbrow could not be reached for comment Thursday.

McQueen filed divorce papers in Riverside in September 2000.

Attorneys for Desbrow and McQueen did not return calls seeking comment Thursday.

A friend of McQueen filed a missing-person report about 11 p.m. Saturday because they did not meet him as expected after their shopping trip, Martinez said.
