From Associated Press

Shea Hillenbrand became the sixth player to homer in three consecutive innings, setting career highs with five hits and seven runs batted in as he led the Arizona Diamondbacks over the Colorado Rockies, 14-6, Monday night at Phoenix.

Hillenbrand hit a pair of solo shots off Jason Jennings, then hit a three-run homer against Nelson Cruz (3-5) as Arizona overcame a 5-0 deficit to win for the 16th time in 19 games.

With a chance to tie the record for homers in a game, Hillenbrand hit a two-run double against Joe Roa in the seventh inning.

Hillenbrand, acquired from Boston on May 29 for Byung-Hyun Kim, has eight hits in his last nine at-bats, raising his average with Arizona to .349.

Stephen Randolph (4-0) gave up one run in three innings, combining with starter John Patterson and relievers Oscar Villareal and Brady Raggio on a five-hitter. All of Colorado’s hits came in the first four innings off Patterson.

San Francisco 5, St. Louis 1 -- Barry Bonds hit the 639th home run of his career an estimated 471 feet, and Marquis Grissom homered and drove in three runs to lead the Giants at San Francisco.

Rookie right-hander Jerome Williams (4-1) pitched his second complete game of the season and won his fourth game in a row.

Bonds’ solo shot -- his 26th of the season -- was the second-longest homer he has hit at Pacific Bell Park. The slugger hit one an estimated 491 feet last Sept. 9 against Odalis Perez of the Dodgers.

Montreal 8, Philadelphia 1 -- Livan Hernandez pitched his second complete game this season and Brian Schneider’s two-run double keyed a five-run fourth inning to lead the Expos at Montreal.

Phillie Manager Larry Bowa was ejected during a wild fourth inning in which benches cleared after Brandon Duckworth (3-3) hit Hernandez with a pitch.

Hernandez appeared to follow through with a swing as the ball hit the upper part of his right arm. Plate umpire Bill Welke immediately pointed to first base. Hernandez shouted at Duckworth, who motioned that Hernandez had swung at the pitch. Players came out of the dugouts and congregated along the first-base line, but no punches were thrown.

Bowa, also ejected from Friday’s 2-1 loss to Florida, had words with Welke on the mound as the players were sent back to the dugouts. He began to leave the field when Welke suddenly threw up his right arm.

It was Bowa’s fifth ejection of the season.

Atlanta 7, New York 3 -- Chipper Jones homered twice for the second consecutive game, and Horacio Ramirez pitched the first complete game of his major league career to lead the Braves at New York.

Jones hit a three-run homer in the first inning and had a solo shot in the eighth for his 28th multihomer game. He hit two home runs in the Braves’ 7-5 win over the Montreal Expos on Sunday for his first multihomer game this season.

Ramirez (8-2), making his 15th career start, gave up one earned run and four hits in winning his seventh consecutive decision since losing to Florida on April 11. He struck out seven and walked two.

Houston 7, Cincinnati 1 -- Roy Oswalt shut down the Reds, and Richard Hidalgo backed him with a three-run double to lead the Astros at Houston.

Oswalt (5-4) was making his first start since leaving a game against the New York Yankees on June 11 after the first inning because of a strained right groin.

Five relievers followed that night and combined on the first six-pitcher no-hitter in major league history.

Oswalt gave up one run and three hits in six innings, struck out three and walked one. He is 7-0 with a 1.56 ERA in 10 starts against the Reds, and has more wins against Cincinnati than any other team.

Chicago 6, Florida 3 -- Pitcher Matt Clement hit a tie-breaking two-run double and the Cubs scored three runs in the fourth inning to win at Chicago.

With two out in the fourth and Hee Seop Choi on second, Marlin Manager Jack McKeon had starter Josh Beckett (3-4) intentionally walk Paul Bako to get to Clement. The Chicago right-hander, who improved to 5-1 in eight starts against his former team, hit the first pitch down the right-field line to score Choi and Bako, putting the Cubs ahead, 5-3.

Milwaukee 9, Pittsburgh 2 -- Wayne Franklin took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and improved to 10-1 in his last 11 starts to lead the Brewers at Milwaukee.

The loss ended the Pirates’ four-game winning streak.
