Concert to Raise Funds for Orphans
Two charities that offer educational, medical and financial aid to children in Afghanistan and Iran will host a fund-raising concert Saturday at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove.
The Festival of HOPE (Help the Orphans Be Productive and Educated) is presented by the International Orphan Care and Child Foundation to help fund a new educational facility on the Afghanistan-Iran border.
“We see this as a historical event,” said International Orphan Care founder Hasan Nouri of Laguna Hills. “We have two neighboring countries, two communities that have come to America -- and this is being done in a Christian facility -- to help Muslim children in Afghanistan. It’s beautiful.”
The event will be hosted by actress Virginia Madsen and the reigning Ms. America, Susan Jeske.
Tickets for the festival, which will run from 4 to 10 p.m., are $40 to $80 and can be purchased by calling (714) 544-5679.
