Jockey Julie Krone, who had a couple of significant victories aboard Debonair Joe in 2002, will try for another in the $100,000 Rapid Transit today at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minn.

The 6 1/2-furlong Rapid Transit is one of the six races in the annual Claiming Crown, which was held at Philadelphia Park last summer.

Owned by Lynne Ristad and trained by Juan Pablo Silva, Debonair Joe, who was claimed for $12,500 last Sept. 20 at Fairplex Park, won the Vernon O. Underwood at nearly 53-1 odds last fall at Hollywood Park, then came back 19 days later and took the Malibu, a Grade I, at Santa Anita at nearly 27-1.
