Johnson Leads Liberty Past Sting
Vickie Johnson scored 27 points to help the New York Liberty end a losing streak at three with a 56-48 victory over the Charlotte Sting in front of 11,785 at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
Johnson scored eight points during a 10-2 run in the second half that gave the Liberty (8-8) the lead for good. Charlotte (12-8) lost its second in a row after winning four in a row before the All-Star break.
Detroit 74, Seattle 61 -- The Shock (12-5) went on an 11-2 run with 8:59 left to take control of the game in front of 6,923 at Auburn Hills, Mich.
