From Times Wire Reports

Firefighters battling a wildfire that devastated a mountain resort town did not have to contend with winds for the first time since the flames began menacing the community last week.

Fire crews expected the turn in weather to help them gain ground on the blaze, which has burned about 345 buildings -- mostly homes and cabins -- on Mt. Lemmon.

The blaze charred more than 26,700 acres, with much of it pine forest. However, officials said it is 25% contained.
