“My all-time favorite TV show is ‘All in the Family.’ It found comedy out of diversity. Its actors could play sad and make you laugh or fear, as when Edith was raped. It was one of the best ensemble casts for that. It makes you laugh through the tears at times. Naturally, sitcoms are my favorites -- without laugh tracks if possible. I like well-written ones like ‘Frasier’ or ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm.’ And TV does something else though, too. When Princess Diana died, TV brought the world together. And then when 9/11 happened, it seemed for a short time that we were all truly in this great diverse country, this world together -- all watching with earnest sincerity and concern for the plight of our fellow citizens -- and, together, doubting our future.”

Host of E!’s “Rank” and “Wild On” series

“My favorite TV show is ‘Friends’ because it offers a humorous portrayal of life and relationships, and the characters are very relatable. I enjoy watching the characters grow and change over time. It makes me think about the importance of having family and friends around to share and experience life with. My favorite type of TV shows are dramas because they’re always engaging and filled with exciting thrills and plots. My favorite show this season is ‘Alias.’ It’s great because it’s smart, stylish and unpredictable. The show offers intriguing twists where I’m left begging for more. And Jennifer Garner of ‘Alias’ is great because she is tough and intelligent, yet still shows her human side. I especially like the relationship that’s brewing on the show between her and co-star, Michael Vartan -- he’s also a favorite of mine.”

Chris Jericho

WWE Superstar

“My current favorite show is ‘The X Files.’ I’ve always been a big fan of conspiracy theories and UFOs. Mulder rules. It’s well written and well acted. I bought all the seasons on DVD, and I program my TiVo to capture it whenever it’s on. I’m addicted -- I’ll watch four episodes in a day. I have even been caught watching it while driving. I have a DVD player in my car, so I just put it in and watch it while I’m driving ... though I listen to it more. What can I say? My dad used to read the newspaper in the car while driving. Also, I’m a huge fan of the improv show ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway?’ and ‘The Surreal Life’ reality series featuring the B-list actors. And lastly, the original ‘Tonight Show’ with Johnny Carson. Nobody did it better than him.”
