Former Colombian official Luis Gilberto Murillo will discuss American involvement in his country at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Thousand Oaks Library.

Murillo, a former governor of one of the poorest states in Colombia, fled with his family after being kidnapped and threatened by paramilitary forces. He is traveling around the United States to argue against a larger U.S. role in Colombia’s civil war.
