Bodine Wins Going Sideways

From Wire Reports

Todd Bodine won the rain-delayed Busch series race Monday at Darlington, S.C., when his car bounced off Jamie McMurray’s on the final lap and slid sideways across the finish line.

It was the second consecutive dramatic finish at the track. Ricky Craven on Sunday beat Kurt Busch by a few inches -- officially .002 seconds -- in the closest finish since Winston Cup went to its electronic scoring system in 1993.

McMurray appeared headed for his second victory of the year when he went high off the final turn and nosed in front of Bodine in the DarlingtonRaceway.com 200.

But Bodine slid high into McMurray, pointing his car’s nose at the wall and sending the No. 1 Dodge spinning toward the inside retaining wall. Bodine managed to cross in front.

It was Bodine’s first win of the season and 15th of his career.
