30-Year Employee Named Interim CFO
Fred Branca was named the county’s interim chief financial officer. He replaces Gary Burton, who is retiring Thursday.
Branca has worked for the county since 1973 in a number of positions at the auditor-controller’s office, General Services Agency, county administrative office and Social Services Agency. He will continue at an annual salary of $136,780.
The county’s Human Resources Department plans to hire a consulting firm to find a permanent replacement for Burton. Board Chairman Tom Wilson said a permanent CFO probably will not be hired until the end of the summer.
