“California Connected,” KCET-TV’s state-oriented public affairs program that went off the air in September when the funding grant for its first season ran out, is returning next month.

The series, which again will be hosted by David Brancaccio of public radio’s business program “Marketplace,” received new funding from the James Irvine Foundation and the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation for its second season.

The first season was a popular and critical success, and Marley Klaus, the executive producer of “California Connected,” said all of its elements, including irreverent commentaries from Sacramento humorists and columnists, will return.
