Trash Haulers Approve 3-Year Union Contract

An initial union contract for about 100 drivers of E.J. Harrison & Sons, Ventura County’s largest trash hauler, was approved by a nearly 2-1 margin.
Martel Fraser of United Food and Commercial Workers’ Local 1036, who helped negotiate the three-year contract, said that Thursday night’s vote improves wages and benefits, enhances pension contributions and cuts worker medical insurance premiums.
