Real March Madness: Talking About NFL Now
Aside to Carson Palmer: Don’t be fooled by the Cincinnati Bengals’ thinly disguised ploy [“Bengals Check Out Palmer but Plan to Look at Others,” March 26]. It’s obviously a sinister plot to cut down on the multimillion-dollar bonus the Bengals will have to pay you as the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
As USC’s Heisman Trophy quarterback, you’re the consensus choice among NFL scouts as the best available player in the draft. If the Bengals fail to select you with their first overall pick, it’d be comparable to a guy choosing to date Martina Navratilova over Anna Kournikova.
