A quick start will be even more important than usual in tonight’s eighth race.

It’s the $15,000 100-Yard Dash Handicap.

Miami Cartel, who won the Kaweah Bar Handicap in his last start on April 5, will try for his eighth lifetime victory for a partnership that includes trainer Paul Jones. In his best efforts, the 4-year-old Corona Cartel gelding has come out quickly. Ramon Sanchez, who won three times with the Oklahoma-bred last year, is back aboard.

The field also includes 16-time winner Talking Tactics. A 10-year-old gelding owned by Felix Gonzalez and trained by Adan Farias, he starts the 100-Yard Dash having won four in succession, including a neck victory on April 26.

The picks: 1. Tarzan The Chick Man. 2. Wired To Win. 3. Chicksdashin. 4. Sherife Usa. 5. Dale Badon. 6. Flying Jeb. 7. Chiricao. 8. Miami Cartel. 9. Wcr Rubys Fame.
