Shell Ha Appears to Be Back in Comfort Zone

Share

Looking for her third career victory, Shell Ha will try claimers for the first time in tonight’s seventh.

The race -- a 300-yard contest for 3-year-old fillies running for a $20,000 tag -- drew a field of seven.

Owned in partnership by trainer Paul Jones, Shell Ha, a California-bred daughter of Holland Ease, won an allowance race at 14-1 two starts ago. She will be cutting back to the distance of that victory after finishing fourth behind Female Friend at 400 yards on April 12. Ramon Sanchez has the call.

Jones will also send out four-time winner Loves That Gold. Owned by James Burgess, the daughter of Royal Quick Dash has a victory and two thirds in three starts since being claimed for $10,000 by her current connections.

The picks: 1. Bandolen. 2. Mirobolant. 3. A Chick For Cash. 4. Fred Too. 5. Awsome Chicken. 6. Dashnshanal. 7. Shell Ha. 8. Yak Ity Yak Go. 9. Power Trip.

Four! Use Bandolen, Dashndownfast and Red Sparks A Flying in the first, single Mirobolant in the second, the Band Red Hot-A Chick For Cash entry, Bw Arizonan and Designed Tobe Super in the third and Fred Too, No Pet Peeves and Local Call in the fourth.

Shots in the dark: Un Fracaso Mas has his claiming price halved in the fifth and keeps jockey Alex Bautista. Striking Miss Julie debuts in a weak field in the sixth.
