Jeff Cunningham and Brian McBride scored first-half goals as the Columbus Crew (3-1-2) beat the Colorado Rapids, 2-0, in Major League Soccer on Saturday night in front of 16,555 at Columbus, Ohio.
Colorado (0-3-1) is last in the league with one point.
New York/New Jersey 1, Washington 0 -- Clint Mathis scored goals in consecutive games for the first time in two years to lead the MetroStars (3-1-1) over D.C. United (0-2-3) in front of 17,934 at East Rutherford, N.J. The MetroStars are 19-0-2 when Mathis scores at least one goal.
Kansas City 3, Dallas 1 -- Eric Quill and Chris Brown each had a goal and an assist to lead the Wizards (2-1-2) over the Burn (0-2-2) in front of 8,317 at Southlake, Texas.
San Jose 0, Chicago 0 -- The host Fire (1-0-3) and the Earthquakes (3-0-2) played to a scoreless tie in front of 7,825 at Naperville, Ill., to remain the only undefeated teams in MLS.

Washington 4, Philadelphia 1 -- Abby Wambach had the first three-goal game in Freedom history in a victory over the Charge (0-4) in front of 5,135 at Washington. The Freedom (4-0-1) has a 14-game regular-season unbeaten streak (11-0-3).
New York 3, Boston 2 -- Krista Davey’s 89th-minute goal gave the Power (3-3) a victory over the Breakers (3-2-1) in front of 3,507 at Uniondale, N.Y. Maren Meinert had two goals for Boston. She is tied for the league lead with six goals.
San Diego 1, Atlanta 1 -- Maribel Dominguez scored in the 75th minute -- tying Meinert for the league lead -- to give the host Beat (2-1-2) a tie against the Spirit (2-1-2) in front of 8,362 at Atlanta.
San Jose 3, Carolina 1 -- Brazilians Pretinha, Katia and Sissi scored for the CyberRays (3-2) in a victory over the Courage (0-4) in front of 6,189 at San Jose.
